A territory-wide cohort study in Hong Kong to understand the health, happiness and harmony (the “3Hs”) - encompassing physical, mental, and social wellbeing - of individuals and the households and neighbourhoods in which they live, in a society undergoing rapid social and economic change.
The cohort aims to record evolving levels of the 3Hs and identify factors that are amenable to social action and policy intervention.
In order to achieve these objectives, it is necessary to understand the conceptual structure of individual happiness and family harmony in the Hong Kong Chinese population, and to develop valid measures of these constructs.
