HKUMed Reports Real-Time Population Data On Depression And Suicidal Ideation: A Ten-Year Prospective Cohort

The “FAMILY Cohort” research team at the School of Public Health, LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong (HKUMed) finds that the point prevalence of both probable depression and potential suicidal ideation have increased across all ages in both sexes over the past decade (from 2009 to 2019), coinciding with important sociopolitical events including Occupy Central and the Fugitive Offenders and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Legislation (Amendment) Bill.
